3 Can’t Miss” Sessions at ALTA ONE 2018 [VIDEO]”

David Daley

Who else is looking forward to another year at ALTA ONE? If you aren’t yet aware, it’s in Los Angeles, from October 9 – 12. Our VP of Product, Dave Daley, is a veteran of the conference and is taking over the blog this week to deliver his top picks for this year’s sessions. Check out what he has to say in this video.

This year is going to be a big change for me because as many of you know, I joined the team at PropLogix and I’m coming to ALTA ONE not only to see my old friends and make some new, I’m also there to soak up knowledge where I can.

In my role as the VP of Product at PropLogix, I’m focused on what’s next for us and that means staying ahead of what’s up and coming in the title industry.

I’m actually here to talk about all the awesome sessions this year and the ones that I’m most excited to attend. So, let’s get into it:

1. Building a culture of innovation

We all know by now that culture is incredibly important, but (the big BUT) are you crafting the kind of culture that will continue to move your company forward?

I am a strong proponent of culture that fosters creativity and empowers individuals to create new products and great new solutions. It’s a huge part of my philosophy and it’s a huge part of what we do at PropLogix.

My good friend Brad Miller, VP of Title Operations at Amrock is one of the presenters for this session and they’re doing some really amazing things over there as far as Amrock company culture goes, so I know it’s going to be a very good session to attend.

Check out the details on this educational session on the ALTA ONE schedule.

2. Tech trends you can’t ignore

The name says it all. You simply can’t ignore these trends. Luckily, presenters David Floyd, Marvin Stone, and Eddie Oddo know what they’re talking about.

All year long we’ve been hearing buzz about trends like blockchain and e-closings. These advances are not some distant, futuristic work of imagination. They’re a reality. Whether it be blockchain, digital mortgages, or e-closings, I know that my kids will not be closing on their homes the way we do closings today. If I had to guess, they’ll be doing it all from the comfort of their computer or smartphone. That means we need to know what technologies are out there that are going to make that possible.

Not only should we be thinking about the technologies, but we need to start thinking about the specifics of implementing them. What software will be required to make it work, what workflows will be needed, and what will the labor stack look like? We’ll get to see how key industry leaders are leveraging these trends and what that means for the rest of us.

Check out the details on the ‘Tech trends you can’t ignore’ session.

3. Let’s talk about robots

This is a topic that thrills me. Advances in AI means increased efficiency and an improved customer experience, which is good news for everyone! Between machine learning, and automation, I think there’s a lot up and coming where title production is concerned. Maybe that means talking to Amazon’s Alexa and generating a title commitment on the fly, but artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay. This one is led by Paul Stine of CloseSimple and First American Financial Corporation’s chief economist, Mark Fleming.

Check out the details on this AI focused session.

That’s my top-three roundup for ALTA ONE! Of course, the scheduled is packed with many amazing sessions that happen simultaneously, so choosing is going to be tough. I’m curious to know what sessions look good to you?? Is there anything else about ALTA ONE that has you excited? Leave them in the comments below!
