Ep. 31: Tales from the Underwriting Desk with Lindsay Hall Harrison

Title professionals have a complicated job, but they manage to make it look relatively easy. When something isn’t quite right and there’s a question of how to proceed, title agents turn to their underwriters for guidance. And while people often joke that title work is boring, if you spend some time talking with an underwriting counsel, you’ll hear some fascinating stories mixing human drama and property rights. It takes the help of underwriters to untangle these complicated title problems and issue marketable title policies. In this episode, I talk with Lindsay Hall Harrison, underwriting counsel for Stewart Title. She shares some of her favorite tales from the underwriting desk and why she loves what she does.

“Don’t be afraid to phone a friend... It’s better to ask than go forward and question it after the fact. Reach out to your friendly neighborhood underwriter.” - Lindsay Hall Harrison, Stewart Title Underwriting Counsel
